Cochrane Park - Newcastle

Cochrane Park is an estate of two, three and four bedroom houses lying to the eastern edge of Newcastle.  It is an affluent area, popular with couples and families alike.  The Wills building, which faces onto the Coast Road was a cigarette factory, until its closure in 1986 after which it became derelict.  Twelve years later in 1998 the building became a flagship development of luxury flats built by George Wimpey.  The flats are popular with young professionals who need good transport links into Newcastle and beyond.  Cochrane Park is also home to the Northumbria University Coach Lane Campus, containing student accommodation and sporting facilities.  Close by is the Freeman Hospital in Heaton, which makes Cochrane Park the perfect place for hospital workers to rent a house.
